SPECIAL DRAW HUNTS

APPLICATION & DEADLINE INFORMATION

1. Beginning July 30, 2018 draw applications will be accepted for ALL draws hunts.
  • The close of business on August 20, 2018 is the deadline to return all ARCHERY HUNT draw applications. The drawing for these tags will take place Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The payment deadline is August 30, 2018.
  • The close of business on August 27, 2018 is the deadline to return all MULE DEER, WHITETAIL DEER, BULL ELK, PRONGHORN ANTELOPE and BIGHORN SHEEP draw applications. The drawing for MULE DEER & WHITETAIL tags will take place on Tuesday, August, 28, 2018. The drawing for BULL ELK, PRONGHORN ANTELOPE and BIGHORN SHEEP tags will take place Wednesday, August 29, 2018. The payment deadline for these tags is September 14, 2018.
  • The close of business on October 5, 2018 is the deadline to return all GENERAL ELK and FALL TURKEY draw applications. The drawing for these tags will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. The payment deadline for these tags is October 16, 2018.
  • The close of business on December 14, 2018 is the deadline to return all SPRING JAVELINA, SPRING GOBBLER, BLACK BEAR and MOUNTAIN LION draw applications. The drawing for these tags will take place on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. The payment deadline for these tags is December 28, 2018.
2. The draw order for each drawing will occur in the same order that the hunts are listed in the Regulations.
3. Successful draw applicants may purchase their tags beginning the following business day after the  respective draw.
 
The drawings will be held on the listed dates at the Game & Fish office in Whiteriver beginning at 10:00 AM. Applicants need not be present to be drawn. A list of all successful applicants and alternates for each respective draw hunt will be posted outside the Game & Fish office in Whiteriver on the following business day after 1:00PM, however, this date and time are subject to change PENDING TRIBAL FAIR WORK SCHEDULE. In the event that a Tribal Member is successfully drawn for multiple Zones either as a primary draw or alternate draw they will have 1 week from the date of the draw to select the Hunt/Zone they want. If they fail to select the Hunt/Zone they want after this time period the Game & Fish Department will assign them the first Hunt/Zone they were drawn in according to the draw order. It is not the WMAT Game & Fish Department’s responsibility to attempt to contact an applicant if incomplete and/or incorrect information is given on an application.

EXHIBIT I All draw hunts (hunt numbers: 1B, 1C, 1E, 1F & G, H, 1I, 1J, 1K, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2G, 2H-Rifle, 2H – Archery, 2I, 3-Archery, 3-Rifle and 4, 5A & 5B, 6, 7 & 8).
1.                 1B – GENERAL WHITETAIL DEER – 200 tags issued by draw; 50 in Zone 1, 60 in Zone 2, 30 in Zone 3A and 60 in Zone 3B.
2.                 1C - TROPHY WHITETAIL DEER - 100 tags issued by draw; 20 in Zone 1, 35 in Zone 2, 10 in Zone 3A and 35 in Zone 3B.
                    1E - GENERAL MULE DEER - 75 tags issued by draw; 15 in Zone 1, 15 in Zone 2, 25 in Zone 3A and 20 in Zone 3B.
3.                 1F - YOUTH MULE DEER - 25 tags issued by draw; 5 in Zone 1, 5 in Zone 2, 10 in Zone 3A and 5 in Zone 3B.
4.                 1G and 1H. – TROPHY DEER – 20 tags issued by draw; 10 tags in Unit 8 and the area between Carrizo Creek and the Amos Wash road (R-9) and north of the Black & Salt Rivers in Unit 10 only. 10 tags in Zone 3A.
5.                 1I - 55+ DEER - 60 tags issued by draw; 15 in Zone 1, 15 in Zone 2, 15 in Zone 3A & 15 in Zone 3B.
6.                 1J - ARCHERY MULE DEER - 35 tags issued through a Special Draw, refer to H2. A. Exhibit III.
7.                 1K - ARCHERY WHITETAIL DEER - 30 tags issued through a Special Draw, refer to H2. A. Exhibit III.
8.                 2A - ARCHERY ELK - 50 tags issued through a Special Draw, refer to H2. A. Exhibit III.
9.                 2B - GENERAL ELK - 200 tags issued through a draw; 100 in Zone1, 70 in Zone 3A and 30 in Zone 3B.
10.               2C – YOUTH RAGHORN BULL ELK – 20 tags issued by draw.
11.               2D – FALL BULL ELK ZONE 1 – 30 tags issued by draw.
12.               2E – FALL BULL ELK ZONE 2 – 20 tags issued by draw.
13.               2F – FALL BULL ELK ZONE 3A – 30 tags issued by draw.

16.              2I – SPECIAL BULL ELK - 12 tags issued by draw; 3 tags in Zone 1, 3 tags in Zone 2, 3 tags in Zone 3A and 3 tags in Zone 3B.
17.              3 – PRONGHORN ANTELOPE – 1 Archery tag issued through a Special Draw, refer to H2. A. Exhibit III. 3 Rifle tags issued by draw, 1 tag in Zone 1 and 2 tags in Zone 2.
18.              4 – ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIGHORN SHEEP - 1 tag issued through a draw.
19.              5A – FALL TURKEY - 700 tags issued through a draw.
20.              5B – SPRING GOBBLER - 300 tags issued through a draw; 250 General tags and 25 Fifty Five & Older tags.
21.              6 – JAVELINA - 100 tags issued through a draw.
22.              7 – BLACK BEAR - 300 tags issued through a draw.
23.              8 – MOUNTAIN LION - 300 tags issued through a draw.
EXHIBIT II - The Super Mule Deer and Super Whitetail tags will be issued through a Special Raffle, hunt number 1C.
                                            
EXHIBIT III - The Archery Mule Deer tags, hunt number 1J, Archery Whitetail Deer tags, hunt number 1K, Archery Elk, hunt number 2A, Trophy Bull Elk - Archery tags, hunt number 2H – Archery and Pronghorn Antelope – Archery tag, hunt number 3 - Archery will be issued through a special draw for applicants who have successfully completed a special WMAT Tribal Game & Fish Department Archery Hunter Safety Course and who have demonstrated basic archery proficiency. The draw for these tags will take place on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, beginning at 9:00 AM at the Game & Fish office in Whiteriver. Contact the Game & Fish Department for the date, time and location of the Archery Hunter Safety Courses.
