ELK SEASON DEPREDATION MT. LION COMBINATION

​SEASON DATES:     

October 7 through November 19, 2017.  Available only to the following valid 2017 elk tag holders: West End General – Archery, West End Archery Raghorn, Youth Raghorn and West End General, (BG. 2, 4, 5 and 6), for the duration of their respective hunts.

 

LEGAL LION/BAG LIMIT:   

Any Lion except females with kittens. One (1) Lion per West End General – Archery, West End Archery Raghorn, Youth Raghorn or West End Depredation     per calendar year.

 

NUMBER OF PERMITS:  180

 

PERMIT COST:  $1.00.

 

PERMIT AVAILABILITY:   

Elk Season – Depredation Mountain Lion Combination tags will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis, beginning August 31, 2017, at the Game & Fish Offices in Whiteriver and Hon Dah.  Tribal Game & Fish staff members may not purchase or reserve these tags for anyone.

 

LEGAL TAKING DEVICE:   

Any legal firearm or bow and arrow as described in section R1.A.

 

UNITS OPEN TO HUNTING:  

Units for which the valid elk tag is open to only.

 

SPECIAL REGULATIONS:                                

Elk Season – Depredation Mountain Lion tag holders are not required to be accompanied by a Tribal Game & Fish licensed/registered Guide. The use of dogs and/or bait for this hunt is prohibited.

 

Once a valid West End General – Archery, West End Archery Raghorn, Youth Raghorn or West End Depredation, (BG. 2, 4, 5 and 6), elk tag holder harvests an elk or the respective season ends, the Elk Season Depredation Mountain Lion Season also ends.

 

PERSONS ENTERING THE RODEO/CHEDISKI BURN AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT PERSONS HUNTING THIS AREA UTILIZE THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE GROUND FOR INGRESS, EGRESS AND PARKING. DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING, PERSONS ENTERING THIS AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF HUNTING SHOULD CONSTANTLY BE AWARE OF CURRENT AND POTENTIAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND PLAN THEIR TRAVEL ROUTES ACCORDINGLY. THE TRIBAL GAME & FISH DEPARTMENT AND THE WHITE MOUNTAIN APACHE TRIBE ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PROPERTY LOSS, DAMAGE OR BODILY HARM INCURRED IN THIS AREA.
